Hours of Operation
Serving America First distributes food on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Clients who wish to pick up food
must call between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
for an appointment time.
Clients must also call the day they intend to pick up.
We ask our clients to call early as pickup times get filled up quickly.
Our Location
The Serving America First food pantry distribution center is
located in the out building behind 379 W. 8th Avenue location in Columbus, Ohio.
It is on the south side of The Ohio State University campus, just
2 blocks west of Neil Avenue across from the OSU hospital parking garage.
There is an alley that runs behind W. 8th Avenue.
Please pull down that alley and park next to the out building.
We do not suggest clients park cars on 8th Avenue as the car may be ticketed.
Click a link for specific directions coming into that area of Columbus from the
north,
east,
west, or
south.
Please note there is construction that has shut down I-670, so please take that into consideration if you pull up your own directions on Yahoo or Mapquest.
We've tested the directions below and they work.
Take 315 South to the
Kinnear Rd/Olentangy River Road exit
(just past the Lane Avenue exit). Turn left at the end of the exit
ramp onto Kinnear Road, which becomes Olentangy River Road immediately.
Just after the Lennox shopping center at the traffic light, turn left onto King Avenue and cross the river. After the first traffic light on King Avenue, turn left onto Perry Street.
Turn right into the second alley to the right (it is right before a parking
lot). This will take you behind West 8th Avenue. The S.A.F. building is located
just down the alley on the left - look for a red garage. Please park next to the dumpsters.

There is construction that has shut down I-670. We are working on getting better directions exiting from 71, but for now these directions will work:
Take I-70 west through downtown. Exit on 315 north.
Take the Goodale St/Grandview Heights exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Goodale. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Neil Avenue. Go straight forward and you will go into a residential area. At the fifth traffic light, turn left onto King Avenue.
Just past the first traffic
light on King, take a right onto Perry Street.
Turn right into the second alley to the right (it is right before a parking
lot). This will take you behind West 8th Avenue. The S.A.F. building is located
just down the alley on the left - look for a red garage. Please park next to the dumpsters.

Exit on 315 north.

Take I-71 North towards Columbus. Near downtown, Route I-71 will branch off to the right - do NOT go there and do NOT exit onto Route I-70. Instead, go straight and follow the signs for Route 315 North towards Worthington.
From 315, take the Goodale St/Grandview Heights exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Goodale. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Neil Avenue. Go straight under the overpass and you will go into a residential area. At the fifth traffic light, turn left onto King Avenue.
