While one of our primary purposes is to provide more healthy, nutritious meals to those
in need through food pantry services and hot meal serve-outs,
another very important purpose is education so our
clientele can continue and implement a healthy lifestyle in their own homes.
We provides nutrition education, meal planning information, practical training on
implementing safe food handling, and cooking classes
to anyone interested in learning.
Individual Counseling is available for those in need of specific nutritional information,
such as those experiencing a transition in their diet.
We work specifically with individuals with heart disease or cancer
who need to substitute meat products in their diets
because their doctor has ordered a more vegetarian diet.
Our volunteers teach them how to get protein from vegetable sources as an alternative
while maintaining a balanced diet.
